The Code for Sustainable Homes is an assessment method that rates the environmental qualities of all categories of new homes within England. The Code is based on the Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) EcoHomes and is a standard for the key elements in achieving sustainability in new homes through good design and construction.
The first stage is carried out at Design Stage Assessment and each dwelling type is given an interim code certificate based on the architects plans and specifications.
The second stage is carried out at the Post Construction, requiring a series of site visits and inspections where each dwelling type is given a final code certificate showing the overall sustainability rating for the home and a breakdown of how that rating has been achieved.
All assessments are undertaken by our licensed assessors and covered by STROMA’s quality assurance procedures to ensure a consistent approach and high level of service.
